D-U-N-S NUMBER
The global identifier of your business – from the original source. We assign the numbers D-U-N-S based on an agreement with the international corporation Dun & Bradstreet, which supports the global business identification system for the development of international trade and cooperation.
D-U-N-S is a 9-digit code that identifies any company in the world.Legal entities in different countries may have consonantal or unpronounceable names, an incomprehensible address, and a meaningless national identifier.D-U-N-S is universal, does not require translation and unique as a human fingerprint.
Back in the early 60s of the 20th century, Dun & Bradstreet was the first to decide to "recount" all businesses in the world and assign them unique numbers.
Today, D-U-N-S has established itself as a globally recognized business identifier, as it relies on the world's largest database of companies maintained by Dun & Bradstreet Corporation.
The assignment of D-U-N-S ensures high-quality data about legal entities, facilitates their search and identification, and the building of corporate relationships between them.
For businesses, given the unique status of the identifier, D-U-N-S opens up the opportunity to develop partnerships on the international market.Dozens of global corporations – for example, Google, Apple, Huawei, Boeing, General Motors, Tyson, Verizon, Oracle, Caterpillar, Wall-Mart, AIG, HSBC, BMW, Volkswagen – require a number from their partners to start cooperation.
D-U-N-S is used by international organizations, such as the World Customs Organization and the United Nations, as well as the U.S. federal government.
To better address national specifics and ensure high data quality, Dun & Bradstreet relies on its partners in various countries to assign D-U-N-S numbers. In the CIS countries, D-U-N-S numbers are issued by the Interfax Group, the developer of SPARK - the largest corporate information database in the region.
D-U-N-S is assigned to all legal entities (commercial and government), sole proprietors. It remains with the company throughout its existence, including changes in name, address, and even in the event of bankruptcy.
